High End Antiquing

We did a little window shopping on our recent trip to New Orleans.  We're not really in the market for anything but the opportunity presented itself.  Why not?  After all, looking is our most common form of shopping.

Most of the things we looked at were beautiful and outrageously beyond our means.  But we knew that from the word go.  

The chandeliers in this particular shop are stunning and from the window it's almost impossible to separate one from another.  

This armoire is perhaps eight feet tall.  I could have easily climbed in and stood up.  I fell in love with the design and color.

We walked around for a couple of hours admiring the workmanship, the beauty, and the sheer volume and number of the pieces.  If you ever want to do some serious antiquing, shoot on down to New Orleans' French Quarter.

If you need a hotel while visiting "The Big Easy" be sure to call either Hotel Monteleone or Le Pavillion Hotel.  Both will impress you.  I know, I've stayed in both!  (Though it's been a while.)  Have the pecan pancakes for breakfast at Le Pavillion.  Oh, the gingerbread village at Monteleone is worth the trip!

French Quarter, only five short blocks to the celebrated
music clubs of Bourbon Street and the famous
restaurants and antique shops of Royal Street. 

They are on opposite sides of Canal Street but close enough to walk to where ever you want to go in the French Quarter.  Good weekend rates, valet parking, and romantic rooms are part of the package.  If you go at Christmas time, there's the added beauty of the season, but it's not necessary to wait: there's so much to do downtown!
