Of course, I have a few items left on my to do list. But those are iffy, as in if I get them done, I'll be thrilled; if not, I'll be slightly disappointed. No one knows what my plans are, or which of the projects are intended gifts.
But this quilt is done! Bound, labeled and photographed done. It's normally easy enough to trim out, sew and quilt. This little baby was true to form and took no time. Well, almost.
To save the customer some money, I stippled the entire quilt rather than custom quilt it. Wow! That is a faster way to go.
Because both quilts go to the same customer, I asked Richard to hang both of the quilts on the line so I could take a picture. Doesn't this look fabulous?!
Isn't that a cute hubby on the ladder? |

In case you don't remember the first quilt, which I wrote about here, I've got a little animation for you. Unfortunately, it's fast moving and I haven't a clue how to fix it.

Thanks to the Hosts!
That photo of the two on the line fabulous, you are right. Way to go, Mary.
ReplyDeleteWoohoo! Congratulations on TWO T shirt quilts! They look great, and will be wonderful memories for the recipient.
ReplyDeleteCheers,

I've never found T-Quilts particularly quick to make. Do you add stabilizer to the back of each shirt? I find the whole process to be quite labor intensive.
ReplyDeleteActually Joyful, I was being a tiny bit snarky. Tee shirt quilts are just not my favorites to make. I add stabilizer if the shirts are very thin or there's a problem that the stabilizer can solve, otherwise no. It adds to the weight and really isn't necessary on a long-arm. (Remember I'm not pushing the quilt around, so there's little stretching.)
ReplyDeleteSylvia, one of the few reasons I make tee-shirt quilts is because they are great memory quilts.
I agree, Kaja. I'm so happy Richard agreed to hang both. What a guy! Thanks for visiting (and leaving sweet comments) everyone!
Nice quilts and beautiful photos of them. I'm quite jealous that you have a line to hang your quilts from to photograph them. It's a sore topic between my husband and I. He rather hold them up for me which is nice but I rather have them hanging up. BTW, I referred Shannon from the Fleming Nine Patch to you, she's interested in making memory quilts with the clothes intact and I know you made some. Hope that was okay. Have a good holiday season.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Rose! I love the clothes line, except for one caveat: it's too high for me. He placed it high enough so (most) quilts are off the ground, but that means using a step ladder--every time. So it's great but not perfect.
ReplyDeleteReferring Shannon is perfectly okay. I'll gladly try to help her. Who know, maybe a tutorial will come of it. lol
A wonderful holiday season to you, also.
They are both great finishes. Lovely way to keep those shirts.
