It's springtime here in Louisiana and we've been getting those odd days when it's hot and muggy one day, chilly the next, then goodness knows what on the following day. The only thing to do is carry a sweater, boots, flip flops, and a wide-brim hat and rain gear at all times. I try to keep most of these things in the car, because it's impossible to know just what to expect.
Yesterday, 8 a.m. was pitch dark; 10 a.m. was raining and cold; and by 3 p.m. we were begging for the A/C. Today was chilly and at Caki's tee-ball game I had to borrow Meggan's jacket.
I'd brought my sweater in and left it at school. Ahh, Louisiana! We say, "if you don't like the weather wait 10 minutes."
Beautiful (and sometimes scary) art can be interesting and inspiring. It can move us in ways that ideas alone cannot.
It can speak to us in ways that words alone cannot.
It can show who we are in ways that other visual pieces cannot.
There are reasons that humans create so many genres and forms of art.
Any one artistic medium alone simply cannot do what all forms together can.
Humanity needs many mediums.
What works to change one mind, one heart, or one soul may not work for another.
Therein lies one reason for an appreciation for many forms, many genres, many types.
