Mrs. Mary Lee's quilts (finishes)

I finished some customer quilts! These are quilt tops hand sewn by Mrs. Mary Lee, my mom's old neighbor. Her daughter asked me to long-arm them so they can all be finished and gifted to her children and grandchildren. And probably a few great-grandchildren. Here are pictures that one of the grandchildren took and texted to me so I'd have a record of some of my quilting motifs.

Sunday Quilt Inspiration: Swirls

Welcome to my world which, for the next week, will consist mostly of tracking TWO hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico. Right now every weather channel is predicting that both will make landfall on the Louisiana coast, possibly near New Orleans. Then hello, central Louisiana, which is where my home sits.

We're not overly concerned for ourselves. Generally by the time a hurricane arrives, it has worn itself out in the south. It has to battle lots of towns, trees, and swamps.

Outdoor furniture, trees, trailers, and anything else not nailed down is up for a swirling, churning ride. And landing can be anywhere. Already the Gulf coast is evacuating. People south of the I-10 are being told to prepare to evacuate or to go now.

If you're a native Louisianan, you most likely have family spread out along the Gulf coast, and we do. Children, sisters, cousins, etc. We've invited the kids to come here. Are saying prayers for others and plan to check in on a few. Everyone who is in serious danger has a game plan and a place to stay.

So cone paths and wind swirls are it for now. Naturally, I'm thinking about quilts in the middle of all this. (I may drawing since we probably won't have electricity.) So I thought I might pin a few swirl quilts and quilting motifs.
