Sunday Quilt Inspiration: Crosses

I hope you are having a blessed Sunday. As Catholics we are watching with growing concern the destruction of Catholic churches and statues around the country. What happened to freedom of religion in the United States? This should be a worry for everyone, since burning one church means people can burn others. The anarchy in our country...I don't know quite what to say. But let's move on to today's SQI. I used crosses in SQI in 2014, but it seems apropos to cover it again with perhaps a few new pins.

And a few quilts with crosses. These are a different style than in the 2014 post.
When the pastures are green in the springtime And the birds are singing their sonnets,You may look to the hills and the valleysAnd they're covered with lovely Bluebonnets.Blue is the emblem of loyalty,They're as blue as the deep, deep sea,Their smiling faces bring gladness,For they bloom for you and for me. Sunday Quilt Inspiration: C R O S S E S

decorative wooden crosses | Handmade layered wood cross by SignsBYDebbieHess on EtsyI've been interested in making a cross quilt for a while now, and though I've made a block or two, I'd really like to begin working on quilt with lots of crosses.  So, I thought maybe it's time to begin looking for inspiration pieces.

I've had a board, which I call "cross, crucifix" for quite a while but I haven't been pinning to it like I should.  So I decided to add some pretty crosses in different styles, colors and materials.

Some of these I may have shown you before (apologies beforehand) but mostly I thought it would be a good idea to get a sense of what's out there and to begin to figure out what I like.

Pin It Wednesday #13

Happy Hump Day!  Enjoy these pins--despite the fact that I've been struggling for an hour to get them here in some sort of system.  Turns out the system is quite simple: anything goes in any order, shape, size, etc.  This gets more difficult every week!  What gives Pinterest?
