Sunday Quilt Inspiration: CLOUDS

Aren't clouds just beautiful? All floaty and soft and colorful. I love to look at the sky. And to enjoy the clouds. Just a few days ago Richard and I were driving through a threatening storm. The clouds were pink and coral on our east and, toward the south, dark purplish gray with lighter and darker grays mixed in. 


Immediately I saw a dragon in the dark grays and Richard found a dog in the east. My dragon lasted for several minutes but his dog morphed into a bunny and then a fantastical flower that surely Dr. Suess drew out. 

Do you share such an imagination? It's a fun way to appreciate God's glory. 

Not as easy as I'd hoped, here are a few quilts that I found that might have a bit of clouds or sky in them. Then ending with a couple of pantos to finish up. 

Fearful weather and fitful nights

Keeping the thousands of people affected by the flooding in Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and the surrounding areas in our thoughts and prayers.  

It's a bit past 4 a.m. and the thunder and lightening has me sitting up worried about those in low-lying areas. They have fled their homes already, hopefully, and are suffering a fitful night of fear for their homes, animals and memories. 

May they return home quickly and safely.

Sunday Quilt Inspiration: W E A T H E R

Here's to scheduling a post and forgetting to check on it: apparently I do not know how to schedule nor do I have the memory to check. So a day late...apologies everyone!

Weird weather? Inspired quilts!  Here's hoping you're not having weird weather. Well, nothing worse than our strange hot-today, cold-tomorrow, stuff.  

I wore long sleeves and a sweater this morning and kicked up a sweat (without the sweater) walking this afternoon. No more of that craziness...I'm keeping an old tee close so I can change quickly when the weather mood strikes.

Now this...this is just terrifying! Give me the misery of humidity and mosquitoes any time. Yes, the mosquitoes are just as annoying in January as they are in July.

So, a storm at sea quilt surely goes into the weather-inspired stack, right?

The rain drops above and ocean waves blocks probably fit in the weather category. Plus anything with a snowflake!
