Sunday Quilt Inspiration: Crown Royal

These delicious Crown Royal Cupcakes are the perfect dessert for your adult party! The flavor of the Crown Royal is subtle, with a hint of vanilla and fruit. The next time you need a recipe for something special to bring to a party, try this amazing sweet treat! Are you familiar with Crown Royal whiskey? I'm not a drinker, so I don't think I've ever even tasted it. However, there seems to be a Crown Royal following among us.

A family friend asked me to make a quilt using the bags that this liquor comes in, so I decided to do a little research. Pinterest, please.

Crown Royal. The reigning monarch King George VI, and his wife, Queen Elizabeth, visited Canada in 1939. Crown Royal was introduced that year by Samuel Bronfman, President of Seagram as a tribute to the royal visit. It was available only in Canada until 1964. Love crown. ❤️

I had no idea that there are so many projects created from these bags. Well, I didn't even know that the bags come in different sizes and colors. (That sort of makes sense...the bottles are different sizes.) Apparently people collect the bags even if they don't drink the alcohol. Huh? Why? Doesn't matter, I've discovered enough to know that it won't be that difficult. Check out what I've found.

FINALLY, something to do with all those Crown bags

I have no intentions of getting this involved: cut the bags into squares, add sashing to increase the size, make a top, quilt and done. The request is for something simple and quick. That, I may be able to do.

How funny, we have some of these Royal Crown bags stuck here and there in drawers. I think my husband prefers other brands and other types of alcoholic beverage so there will never be enough for a quilt. I keep thinking I'll use one of the bags as a gift bag, but not everyone would appreciate it, I fear, here in the Bible Belt.
