YES! They did! Here's the scoop.
American Made Brand is a new line of fabrics by Quiltmaker that is completely American made: the cotton grown in the U.S., milled and dyed in the United States.
Love this quote from the AMB website: "From farm to fabric, from us to you – We salute the farmers, the spinners, the weavers, the dyers, the crafters and the sewists."
So why am I excited? Quite easily because they asked me to create a quilt block for a community quilt. I considered the idea for two seconds, said yes, and was on board the blog tour that will begin in just a few days.
Each person who is participating is creating a block to debut on a particular day--two states a day by order of statehood. The tour begins on May 19 with Delaware and Pennsylvania.
If you follow the tour around, you'll be in Louisiana on May 29th. Of course, I'm not waiting, I've already begun touring the U.S. via the blogs and stopping by to say hello to my sister quilt-makers. There's so much more to explain, but you get the gist.
Except you must know this: each state will also host a giveaway: a fat quarter bundle of five of these luscious fabrics. Since there are 50 colors, there's no telling what you'll get when you win, but it doesn't matter, all 50 are beautifully rich and perfectly matched.
Come back soon to find out the schedule of the tour, and visit often so that you don't miss one exciting detail!
